If the weights of a group of people are divided into 5 classes with the class marks of 44.5 kg, 54.5 kg, 54.5 kg, 74.5 kg and 84.5 kg, find a) the class boundaries of the 2nd class. b) the class boundaries of the 5th class. Please list out the steps. Thanks so much.

I think you have typo mistake at the 3rd class, it should be 64.5 ,right? a) The mid-point between 1st class and 2nd class = (44.5+54.5)/2 = 49.5 The mid-point between 2nd class and 3rd class = (54.5+64.5)/2 = 59.5 class boundaries of the 2nd class is 49.5 to 59.5 class width = 59.5-49.5 = 10 b) The mid-point between 4th class and 5th class = (74.5+84.5)/2 = 79.5 As all class widths are equal and equal to 10 class boundaries of the 5th class is 79.5 to 89.5
